EMERGENCY
CALL 9-1-1
Dial 911 for police, fire, and medical service when a emergency response is needed.

When you dial 911, your call will be received by a Communications Specialist who takes your information. Then, the appropriate police, fire, or medical team located in your area is notified and service is dispatched.

Remain calm. Speak Clearly. Provide the Communications Specialist with the following information...
  • Your Name
  • Address of the incident
  • City you live in and where the incident occurred
  • What is happening
Please stay on the line with the 911 Communications Specialist until told to disconnect.

A quick response depends upon the vital information which you provide about what is happening, its location, and how well your residence and driveway is marked.

About 911 and
Un-initialized Cell Phones
Un-initialized cell phones are wireless phones that are not activated for normal calling service but do have the capability of dialing 911. Even though the caller can reach a 911 answering point, their location and phone number will not be displayed on the call taker’s screen. This means that the caller must be able to verbally state their location in order to get help. If the caller is unable to speak, the 911 call-taker will not know where they are or what the problem is. And without a call-back number, the call taker will not be able to contact the wireless service provider for customer records such as a home address or telephone number.

What should you remember if you have an un-initialized cell phone?

  1. If possible use a landline phone to call 911
  2. Be aware of your location so you can verbally advise the 911 call taker.
  3. Give the call taker your location first
  4. If disconnected, call 911 again
  5. Be prepared to take the actions the 911 call taker advises you to do.
If you have an emergency, please call 911.
